Comic Con North East
After the resounding success of our April 2024 show, we are delighted to announce that we will be bringing Comic Con back to Newcastle sooner than expected. Having looked at the diary, and the success of the last event, we knew the fans would not want to wait another 18 months for our next show which we have now decided will take place over the Halloween weekend annually. We have made the decision to add a second Comic Con for Newcastle on the 26th-27th October 2024, with the 2025 date being on November 1st-2nd. We are also holding Comic Con Mania at the Beacon of Light on September 1st which will also be an annual event, so we really are putting our all into bringing pop culture fans of the North East quality events.
We love the city of Newcastle and the North East region, and both our last shows have been a real blast to put on for you all. We see the potential of Newcastle, it is such a large vibrant city and deserves a flagship event. Once we move into the Sage we will be able to fully realise the vision of making Newcastle one of our major shows. In the meantime though we can put on some amazing events at the Utilita, we expect to have two more shows left before the move now so let’s make them ones to remember, as we build the show and following up in the North East.
With it being Halloween we will be getting in the Halloween spirit by booking some horror related guests, with horror cosplay at the event, and horror dress themed afterparty!
Tickets for our Halloween event are on sale now on our Comic Con North East website, we want to sell this show out to continue our progress building upto our tenancy at Sage. COMIC CON NORTH EAST is part of the Monopoly Events family of pop culture conventions, attracting thousands of fans annually to the Utilita Arena in Newcastle. The main attraction every year is of course the star guests, and we always endeavour to bring you a variety of exciting names from movies, tv, streaming, gaming, anime and sports entertainment. In previous years Comic Con North East has been proud to host the likes of Nick Frost, James Marsters, Mara Wilson and Simon Bird.
We’re all a fan of something, and Comic Con North East is the best place to celebrate all things pop culture. As well as having the chance to meet your heroes, get an item signed or a photo, many guests will also appear live on stage so you’ll get to hear directly about their new projects and previous roles.
Outside of the celebs you can get your picture taken with some of our unique props and set builds; watch the fabulous cosplayers strut their stuff on stage (or join them); test yours skills in our retro and modern gaming areas; or browse through the unique gifts in our trader and artist areas with a large show floor for the perfect shopping experience for everyone in our community.
The shared fandoms and sense of community is central to everything we do. Fans from all over the North East come together every year to share their love of comics, fantasy, sci-fi, gaming, horror and cosplay. To find and bond with like-minded individuals who share their interests.
We’ll continue to grow and evolve this event as a place you can celebrate your community fandoms, discover new ones and most of all have fun!
