Royal Navy aircraft carrier HMS Prince of Wales will visit Liverpool in a demonstration of the Naval Service’s close ties with the city.

It is one of the largest ships ever built for the Royal Navy and has been affiliated with Liverpool. In celebration of this, it will sail in to the city on Friday 28th February for a week-long visit.

You will be able to step on board this giant aircraft carrier on Saturday 29th February and Sunday 1st March.
 
Tickets are free and it’s the first time the vessel has ever officially opened to visitors.
The visit of HMS Prince of Wales has been organised by the Royal Navy in partnership with Liverpool City Council.
 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Please arrive within 15 minutes after your chosen time slot to ensure access (eg. If you have selected 11am, the time slot is 11:00 – 11:15). Arrival outside of this time may result in you not being able to access the ship.

Due to strict security searches in place it would be appreciated if you did not bring bags. However, we will allow one small bag per person, no larger than 20cm x 25cm in size.  

Anyone who wishes to access the ship needs to be physically able and can manoeuvre around small spaces. Access to the ship is via four flights of steps - ascending and descending.

A selection of tickets for the 10am session each day, has been allocated for visitors with additional needs who will be able to view the ship from quay-side. Due to the nature of the ship, it is not accessible for those with mobility needs. These Tickets are extremely limited. To apply for an accessible ticket please call 0344 8000 410.
