Formed in the year 2000, Bristol-based four-piece Get The Blessing boast a truly international fan base, having forged a unique signature sound that defies easy classification, yet never loses sight of thumping tunes, monstrously infectious beats, or joyous collective spontaneity.

Despite several short breaks for other projects over the years – most recently in 2017 when drummer Clive Deamer was on tour with Radiohead - Get The Blessing have built a truly international fan base. They have forged a unique signature sound that defies easy classification.

After seventeen years, Get The Blessing can still lay claim to their original line up. That they can still produce such creative and intelligent music - all balanced with wit and passion - is testament to the free spirit that they embody.

The Weave:

Martin Smith - trumpet
Tony Peers - trumpet
Tony Ormesher - guitar
Rob Stringer - piano
Hugo Harrison - double bass
Tilo Pirnbaum - drums

Liverpool jazz sextet the Weave have explicit interest in the punchy blue note hard-bop style, and sidelong ones in pop, Zappa and the Canterbury avant-pop scene of the 1970s... all of which is served up with a healthy dollop of Liverpudlian wit and wisdom. After years on the circuit, it is not surprising they’ve become affectionately regarded as the elder statesmen of a now-burgeoning Liverpool jazz scene. Together they bring an extremely wide range of influences and musical experience to create a repertoire of splendidly energetic, melodic and joyful homespun originals.

Since the release in July 2015 of their second album Knowledge Porridge, The Weave's national profile has taken off markedly, with sparkling reviews and coverage in the national press (The Guardian, BBC Music Mag, Record Collector Mag, AllAboutJazz.com), as well as topping the Ronnie Scott's album charts in September's edition of Jazzwise magazine.
