[short_description]
It’s an incredible 41 years (and 5 decades) since Stiff Records released the classic cult single “Suffice To Say” by Liverpool band Yachts, with Henry Priestman as writer and keyboard player.
Since then Henry has worked in so many different capacities within the music biz: founder member of It’s Immaterial and, following that, The Christians (for whom he wrote all the songs on their 1987 triple-platinum debut), a veritable roll-call of sessions for fellow North West luminaries including Lightening Seeds, Johnny Marr, Ian McCulloch, Pete Wylie/Mighty Wah, Ian McNabb, and Echo & The Bunnymen....and he even shared a mic and a #1 single with Paul McCartney!
Then there’s his production/co-writing work (with/for such diverse characters as Graham Gouldman, Mark Owen, Jason Donovan, Desmond Child, Lamont Dozier, Suggs, & Cerys Matthews) to say nothing of his film and TV work (BBC Natural World, ads, and Xbox James Bond game etc).
At this gig he’ll be joined of course by Les, plus his friends Nick Silver, Sarah Wright and Jo Bushell, and they’ll be playing excerpts (old and new) from Henry’s “5 decades of song.
