On Thursday 14th of November Liverpool Central is delighted to welcome Megan Phelps-Roper for what looks set to be a night of incredible, eye opening, conversation.

Megan Phelps-Roper, who controversially left the Westboro Baptist Church back in November 2012, will be joining us to discuss her inspirational memoir Unfollow: A Journey from Hatred to Hope, leaving the Westboro Baptist Church.

Megan was raised in the Westboro Baptist Church – the aggressively homophobic and anti-Semitic religious sect who rejoice at AIDS and natural disasters. From childhood to her early twenties, Megan participated in the Church’s notorious picketing campaign almost daily. Then, in November 2012 at the age of twenty-six, Megan left the church, her close-knit family, and her life behind.

The church was the subject of Louis Theroux’s riveting and widely-watched BBC documentary ‘The Most Hated Family in America’, and has been featured most recently on Louis’ third visit back to Kansas.

Megan will be interviewed by Simon Savidge.

This event will also include a book signing with Megan. Please join us for what promises to be a great evening.
