Summer Pops is back for 2021!

Following the success of the first Summer Pops event in 2019, Summer Pops is returning for 2021. This year’s event brings live music back to Neston Cricket Club on Friday the 17th September. Set in the beautiful location of Parkgate, on the banks of the River Dee, this year the format will be slightly different as the event will take place inside a luxurious seated marquee.

This award-winning event is delighted to announce the internationally renowned, local Liverpool legends, The Christians as its headline act.

The Christians were formed in 1985 and their first album ‘The Christians’, released in 1987, was the highest selling debut album of any artists signed to Chris Blackwell’s Island Records. With hits including Ideal World, Forgotten Town and their superb interpretation of The Isley Brothers Classic, Harvest for The World; all of which will be performed by the full band on the night.

Also appearing is The Tea Street Band, performing tracks from their new album Frequency, together with the singles Disco Lights and Fiesta. Signed to Baltic Records, the Band are credited as front runners in returning to the Balearic beats that were so prominent in the 90’s. inspired by The Happy Mondays, 808 State and the Doves they are currently appearing at Festivals throughout the land and are blazing a trail with their infectious rhythms.

And, if that wasn’t enough, we also have The Lights. The Lights are a rockabilly folk duo from Yorkshire. Their music gives a modern, fresh take on the classic folk sound. Collectively, their music has been played on major radio stations such as BBC, Amazing radio, Jorvik Radio York to mention a few, as well as playing at festivals and events such as Cawoodstock 2018, The Priory Live, L.I.A.M, and The Yorkshire Hearty Festival. Currently they are travelling the U.K with original and cover songs whilst recording two albums due for release in early 2022.
