The Creative Campus is home to the creative and performing arts subjects of Liverpool Hope University which include Fine and Applied Arts, Creative and Performing Arts, Dance, Drama and Music. It is also a place where the University interacts with the North Liverpool community and hosts conferences, performances and arts events. It is home to the Cornerstone Festival (an annual arts festival running from mid November) and the Cornerstone (Art) Gallery. It also hosts creative businesses including the European Opera Centre, Collective Encounters Theatre Company and MILAPFest.

The Creative Campus comprises the Cornerstone Building, the Capstone Building (a new £6.5m development), the Angel Field Renaissance Garden, St Francis Xavier Church and Gerard Manley Hopkins Halls of Residence. On site there are several specialist performance spaces, most notably The Great Hall (Cornerstone) and Hope Theatre (Capstone). An annual programme of arts events takes place in Hope Theatre.

Travel

 

By Road From the M62 - At the end of the M62, exit straight ahead (sign posted A5080 City Centre). Follow Edge Lane Drive to Edge Lane (A5047) and continue on until you see a sign indicating left (for Universities). Go left and then right onto the A5047 Irvine Street, leading to Pembroke Place. Go right at the traffic lights into Anson Street, then right again onto London Road and take lRail: eft hand lane turning into Moss Street. At next lights proceed st, raight onto Shaw Street. The venue is approx. 100 yards on the left hand side.

By Road From the M56 - From Junction 15 join the M53. Continue to Liverpool via the Wallasey Tunnel (Kingsway). Exit straight ahead toward Scotland Road/Byrom Street. Keep in the left-hand lane and at the traffic lights follow to left (sign posted Warrington, Manchester and M62) onto New Islington. Stay in the left-hand lane to the second set of traffic lights and turn left onto Shaw Street. The venue is approx. 100 yards on the left hand side.

By Rail - The Creative Campus is less than a mile away from Liverpool 's largest and main railway station, Liverpool Lime Street. The main entrance to the station is opposite Queen Square Bus Terminal from which you can travel by bus (see above).

By Bus - From Liverpool City centre (Queen Square) the buses which go near to the Creative Campus are the 12, 13, 14, 14a, 14b and 19a which stop on Islington near Staples. A two minute walk from Staples down Shaw Street will lead to the venue (on left opposite The Collegiate). The 21 and 345 from Queen Square travel along Shaw Street and will drop you off directly in front of the venue.


Accessibility

 

Facilities are fully accessible for wheelchair users. When booking tickets, please advise TicketQuarter staff of your requirements. The Theatre has a number of accessible seats with space next to them to accommodate wheelchair users. For each ticket booked for one of these spaces, you will be offered a free ticket for an accompanying carer. An induction loop system is in operation at the Capstone Theatre.

General Information

 

Parking - There is limited parking space available on site from 40 minutes prior to evening performances. This is available on a first come first served basis and a small fee is normally charged. Alternatively, you may wish to park at Q-Park on Epworth Street, off Erskine Street, Liverpool L6 1LY and take advantage of our Hope visitors discount vouchers to reduce your parking fee. These vouchers are available from the Visitor’s Lodge as you enter the campus.

For cyclists, there is also a small bike parking area next to the main entrance of the Theatre.
