The Spooky Men’s Chorale bring their own brand of all-male a cappella to the stunning acoustics and grandeur of The Concert Room at Liverpool’s St George’s Hall for the first time, described by Charles Dickens as ‘the most perfect room in the world’.
Brandishing a shiny brand new CD, Welcome To The Second Half, the magnificent, craggy ensemblage of heavenly singing male bodies return to the UK in 2019, ever more comfortable with their whimsical humour and musical breadth – a winning spectrum of Georgian songs, pindrop-beautiful ballads, highly inappropriate covers, and immaculate man anthems.
“Inspired – and a triumph of choreography! Catch them on the road – a fantastic night out is guaranteed!” Mark Radcliffe, BBC Radio 2
“High camp, epic folly – probably the best programming choice of the entire summer festival circuit’– The Irish Times
“Highly theatrical, they veer from weird to touching and back again. Grown up entertainment in the best, most infantile way. Don’t miss an opportunity to see them” – Daily Telegraph
There is also the opportunity to be part of the evening’s performance as the all-singing all-grunting Axis Of Spook. UK Spooky Man James Sills will be running a vocal workshop for participants on evening of Friday 12th July in Liverpool city centre, followed by a masterclass with the Spookmeister himself, Stephen Taberner on the day of the performance. Please select ‘VIP’ for this option. You will be emailed further details a fortnight before the workshop.
