Wirral Folk Festival
The 14th Wirral Folk Festival of music, dance and poetry will again be held this year at The Whitby Club from Thursday 30th May to Sunday 2nd June 2019.
The festival attracts folk and acoustic music and dance enthusiasts from all parts of the United Kingdom, and Europe.
The festival is an all-on-one-site event and is recognized as one of the very best in the country. The main building stands in its own extensive sports grounds and has full wheelchair access. The festival campsite is located in the grounds with excellent camping facilities.
It all starts on the Thursday evening with an Open Mic night of music entitled ‘Sing in the Festival’ with the hosts being the Hungry Horse Folk Club and the resident band Vocal Point.
Main festival attractions will feature four concerts that will take place in the large main concert hall on the Friday evening, Saturday afternoon, Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon.
The main stage concert programme is:
- Friday evening from 7:00pm: Gerry Ffrench, Paul Walker & Karen Pfeiffer, Jim Moray & CHRIS WHILE & JULIE MATTHEWS
- Saturday afternoon from 12:45pm: Paul Walker & Karen Pfeiffer, Henry Priestman & Les Glover, THE WILSONS, ELBOW JANE
- Saturday evening from 7:15pm: The Drystones, THE WILSONS, SAM KELLY TRIO and special guests THE UPBEAT BEATLES
- Sunday afternoon from 1:00pm: The Deportees, Wet the Tea, Harbour Moon, JACQUI McDONALD, TOM McCONVILLE BAND
Additional events will be made up of - an indoor Craft Fair, Mini-concerts, ‘Chances to Meet’ artistes, Workshops in songwriting & arranging, guitar, ukulele, bodhran, whistle, poetry. With Open Mic Musicians Singalong and Singaround sessions; Ukulele concert; Songs of the Sea and Shanties plus Morris and Appalachian dance displays, there will be something for everyone. It all promises once again to be another great weekend.

Please note that your tickets will be exchanged for wristbands on arrival at the festival.
