On the Verge festival

Presented by Hope Street Limited

New performances in places where you wouldn’t normally expect to see theatre.

On the Verge festival is an exciting biennial festival, dedicated to showcasing provocative new work in unusual places and spaces, across the city of Liverpool from the 19th to the 22nd of October.

Some of the performances you can see as part of On the Verge will take place in a sports centre, in a library, on a bus, in a historic Liverpool building, in a changing room, through a window, in a bar and even under one performer’s skirt. Most performances are for a very small number of audience members at the time, which allows you, the audience, to be part of an intimate and very different experience from what you might think of ‘theatre’.

And when we say small, we really mean it, so we advise you to book your tickets in advance.

This year, the festival programme includes eight brand new performances by emerging artists - including two free performances! Check Hope Street Limited website or social media for more information. Plus, an extra special guest performance by an award-winning international dance company from Barcelona, who will bring to Liverpool the UK premiere of The Match (La Partida), a performance of dance and football.

Hope Street Ltd is a Liverpool-based organisation with almost 30 years of experience developing artists, art forms and arts in the community. www.hope-street.org
