The Epstein Theatre (formerly The Neptune Theatre) announces their premiere star-studded Pantomime!
The Liverpool Epstein Theatre is pleased to announce their very first Christmas Pantomime, the greatest fairytale of them all, Cinderella. LHK Productions Ltd takes the helm to bring back traditional Pantomime to the old Neptune stage after a seven year absence (a venue with a tradition of Christmas Pantomimes).
A corker of a celebrity cast has been lined-up as a festive treat for all the family. Liverpool’s princess of 80s and 90s pop, Sonia will take the role of Baroness Hardup, Cinder’s wicked Stepmother. Sonia is best known for her smash hit single You’ll Never Stop Me from Loving You and is no stranger to walking the fabled pantomime boards having previously entertained the masses in a variety of Panto productions such as Dick Whittington, Peter Pan, Aladdin and Sleeping Beauty.
Keeping Cinders’ (and the audiences) spirits high will be former soap stud and resident Liverpool pin-up Philip Olivier who will be donning his finest bellboy suit as he becomes Buttons. Best known for his role as ‘Tim O‘Leary’ in Brookside and ‘Adam Tyler’ in Hollyoaks in the City, Philip is a rising star of musical theatre having played the role of ‘Dirty Harry’ in the UK Tour of Never Forget – The Hit Musical with songs from ‘Take That’.
Has the identity of The Fairy Godmother left you wondering “Who is she?” Well fear not as Reality TV star Nikki Grahame will be entering the Epstein Theatre as part of the star studded production. Undeniably the breakout star of Big Brother 2006 and the runner up of Ultimate Big Brother Nikki’s story is a true rag to riches tale. Swapping tantrums for tiaras she will be showing her hidden acting talents honed from previous stint as Princess Jasmine and through work with Body Gossip, a charity that promotes realistic beauty, acting with a celebrity cast on stage in London and at the Edinburgh Festival.
Straight from the dizzying heights of Radio City we have resident DJ Simon Greening who will be taking on the role of Prince Charming’s ‘right-hand-man’ Dandini. Simon has been a stable of Merseyside, Cheshire and North Wales airwaves and is now bringing his dulcet tones in person to the stage, having performed in the Wizard of Oz in St Helens this Easter.
The role of Cinderella will be played by local girl Alison Crawford to was a finalist on BBC’s Grease is the Word.
Cinderella runs for a magical 54 performances from Friday 7th December 2012 – Sunday 6th January 2013 and is the premiere theatre for Pantomime this Christmas!
Dave Pichilingi CEO at The Epstein Theatre said "We are delighted to be announcing our first ever panto season for the Epstein Theatre (oh no you're not!). Core to our vision is ensuring that the local community and all ages continue to feel the Epstein is their home. What better way to communicate this than through the vehicle of panto. We look forward to having families and schools from all over the region during the festive period and showing them just what an amazing venue the Epstein is to experience theatre of this tradition."
Local Producer Lee Kelly of LHK Productions Ltd added "It's a dream come true to be producing the first pantomime at the newly opened Epstein Theatre after performing at the old Neptune Theatre from age 14 and going on to produce there.
